Yes-the same Kenton owns the twin turbo Z28 and ’89 Chevy Cavalier Z24; however, the turbo Z24 has a little twist. A long time proponent of the remote mount turbo system, Kenton installed a remote mount Garrett turbo on his Z24 just “to see how it would work” but as the car gets quicker and trap speeds increase, the remote mount turbo Z24 has become serious business.
The Turbo Z24 currently features a stock long block 3.4L with Garrett T3/T4 remote mount hybrid turbocharger and external TiAl 38mm wastegate. Having most recently added alcohol injection, the Z24 is knocking on the door of low 12 second passes.
