Yes-we dug Bob’s ’71 Dodge Challenger out of storage and are in the process of installing twin Garrett GT30R turbochargers with intercooler(s). But the scope of the project extends beyond the basic turbocharger/intercooler installation as many of the stock 35 year old systems require upgrading to support the desired turbocharged horsepower. The grocery list includes cooling system upgrades, complete fuel system upgrades (from fuel tank forward), complete ignition system/timing control upgrades, lubrication system upgrades as well as engine dress up items. Stay tuned for updates and a video release as the assembly phase nears completion and tuning begins during the summer of 2006. Project goals includes complete streetability, lots of grin factor under the hood and plenty of turbocharged horsepower to turn heads at the track. If you are considering building a similar vehicle or simply have questions regarding the feasibility of turbocharging muscle era cars, call our Tech Line at (717) 865-3276 or drop us an e-mail at sales@blouchturbo.com.
